Haroon Butt (Director of Business Development)

Haroon Butt is one of the founding Directors of Blackseed Education. Haroon is a Professional Educator and Consultant, and brings with him over 20 years of experience in leading delivery of corporate consulting assignments, and managing departments in imparting innovative teaching and learning solutions in mainstream UK schools.

Haroon has served and worked alongside a number of global clients in the specific delivery of corporate consulting assignments including British Telecom, Mitsui, Mckinsey & Co, Oftel, Spectrum Strategy Consultants and Ovum amongst others. He has also been involved as a Senior Mentor on behalf of King’s College providing support and training to Trainee Teachers, as well as holding the post of Lead Practitioner for ICT at The Learning Trust, and Head of the Business Studies Department

Haroon possesses a unique blend of experience in the corporate and education sectors – which was the inspiration behind founding Blackseed Education, its underlying philosophy and team. Haroon holds a PGCE in Information Communication Technology from King’s College, and a First Class Honours degree from Westminster Business School. Haroon is also working towards a Masters in the Philosophy of Education at the Institute of Education.

Tim Johnson

Tim advises Blackseed Education on the delivery of its outdoor programmes, particularly those concerned with walking. He is a longtime supporter of outdoor education, and an active member of the Ramblers Association – the UK charity which promotes the benefits of walking and preservation of the British countryside.  He has led hundreds of walks over the past 25 years, mostly in the south-east of England.

Tim is also a Governor of an inner London Primary school and has been since 2002, including several years as Chair of Governors.  He understands the value of outdoor activities and their impact on individual and student development.

Tim Johnson has a BSc in Physics from Imperial College, London.  He is known as an expert in broadband developments around the world, and frequently speaks on this topic at conferences in Europe, Asia-Pacific and America.

Saeed Butt

Saeed brings with him more than twenty five years of corporate consulting experience, working either operationally, as a consultant, or as an advisor to various Boards within Information Communication Technology sector. His Primary work has been with network operators , with operational experience of start-ups and large incumbent operators across the world – inlcuding countries in North and Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Saeed is well versed in dealing with all commercial aspects of the Mobile Telecommunication space, including Mergers and Acquisition work, and is a specialist in commercial management and marketing with a proven expertise in development and delivery of value propositions. Saeed also specialises in value proposition development and delivery, Start-up support, market entry strategy, due diligence and fund raising as part of the portfolio of our service offering.

Saeed holds a BA in Economics and a Masters in Econometrics from the University of Essex, and has studied Distribution Technology an Management at the prestigious Cranfield Institute of Management.

Gareth Lewis

Gareth is a highly creative individual who thrives on communicating ideas and concepts through media and animation.  He has directed and edited a number of documentaries about social and cultural issues, and is motivated by developing cohesive relationships between people of diverse backgrounds.

He specialises in corporate communication, and presenting Blackseed Education’s work to a range of audiences as well as interviewing participants for our case study clients.  Gareth thrives on making the best use of his creative abilities to help meet organisational, personal and professional goals.  Gareth has worked on a number of documentary productions about the effect of cultural changes on traditional businesses, which have been broadcast on national television.

Gareth holds a BSc degree in Psychology from the University of Birmingham and is a fluent speaker of the Spanish language.
